A WORD FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Hope after of ECQ Season 3

Let me congratulate everyone in this maiden issue of HRAP Allied Newsletter.

No one doubts that COVID-19 is one of the most dire threats the world has ever faced.

Prompted by a rise in new Covid-19 cases in the National Capital Region (NCR), and with Indonesia located in our southern border, identified as the epicenter of Asia’s Covid 19, we have just "survived" our “Season 3 - ECQ”.

Our travel and tourism, before the pandemic was 12.7% of our GDP. A year after coronavirus restrictions were first imposed, the Philippines has been opening up tourism destinations to help drive local travel. However, in preparation of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in NCR from August 6 to 20, 2021, in a bid to contain an upward trend of virus infection in NCR the government started implementing stricter quarantine measures in NCR from July 30 to August 5, 2021and ECQ from August 06 to 20,2021. Border controls and stricter measures were once again taken, of which our Industry is significantly affected.

As we are challenged, amidst the confusion and anxiety, there are ever stronger signs of hope and solidarity, a sense of, and desire for, togetherness in our Industry. This fact we can’t ignore, the Industry is not just surviving but thriving. We owe to everyone their persistence and determination to resolve whatever options are available.

One of the HRAP sector that has been formidable is our Allied Sector who has supported our hotels and restaurants. Continuously, assistance is always at hand whether be innovations to help the Industry adapt to the emerging normal or to say the very least accommodating the volatile cashflow we have for their collections.

We see in our Allied Group moments of exceptional leadership, for doing the unusual and the unprecedented as they re-invent their resources and approach this crisis.

As your President and Chairman and on behalf of the HRAP Board of Directors, we thank you for being a part of the HRAP Family.

Congratulations and Mabuhay !

COVID-19 caused a lot of disruptions to many things that I have been waiting for and working hard for, for so long. I didn’t finish my culinary training in Miami FL USA and I felt like all of the efforts I made to pursue this career become useless. But then I realized all of the pressure is not suppose to break me, but it is designed to motivate me. I accepted what I have for a moment and learned to appreciate it. Maybe things did not go as I planned, but it does not mean I will give up on my goals.

Being in this pandemic situation and things are still uncontrollable, there are great opportunities that give me a chance to rise and rebuild myself. For example, I spend time listening to other people they too have gone through the same situation and in exchange I share my thoughts as well. I started new hobbies like watching movies, practicing selfcare routines and attending classes that will help with my personal and professional growth. I also got into natural essential oils and started a business, where I found a great support system.

After all, the care and holistic wellness as a priority has been the wisest decision I made this pandemic. I have been blessed and rewarded with a new healthy lifestyle, that I can share with my friends and family. It all began when I decided to love myself more, and this has made me strong enough to take care of everything. I keep my quarantine days as fun and productive indoors or at home staying safe.
